The just transition in Europe: No climate justice without social justice
In this event, we will first explore how Greens from the EU and the UK propose to marry climate justice with social justice. In the second half of the event, we engage in an interactive exchange with the audience for experiences and lessons learned elsewhere (in Europe or outside of Europe).
Join Greens/EFA MEP, Sara Matthieu, European Green Party committee member, Jean Lambert, former Director of the Spanish office of the International Labour Organisation, Joaquín Nieto Sáinz, and Myrah Vandermeulen, of green think tank Oikos, for a conversation on how we combine climate and social justice as our societies undergo the massive transitions required to tackle the climate crisis.

Description: This event is designed to tackle the elephant in the room at the COP26 climate summit: the dogma of GDP growth. It will explore how we can move from this destructive paradigm towards an economy that has human wellbeing and the flourishing of the natural world at its heart.
